Environment

We work with environmental groups and causes, particularly animal and ocean rescue to raise awareness, about what is happening around the globe. SAMPLE EXTRACT


One afternoon during the winter of 1999, Amanda sat on her childhood pink bedspread in a bedroom that overlooked an old maple tree and wrote her first entry, fittingly titled, ‘This Book’.  She was, at the time, I imagine seeing some areas of her life come to a head. She was moving, relocating heart and hearth, leaving behind people and places that had entwined themselves for the past few decades, inextricably into the part she called myself – and to break away from the places that give you anchor – can feel like the greatest step of all.

With exquisite vulnerability, each entry leads us through the pathway tracked from cove to cove, as she navigates by the soul’s only true North Star – the self. In ‘I Know’, the final poem, she brings this vividly into focus, with one line that holds the essence of the journey -

​

It’s so nice to be alive again


These are reminder words. Of day, and breath, and what it means to turn like the seasons – sweet spring, blossoming summer, nostalgic autumn and the wild wetness and hibernation that is needed, sometimes, as we encounter the winter of our lives.
